Calculating the break-even point
Formula: Mold cost / (Direct casting cost per piece - Injection cost per piece with mold)
Example: mold at €65. Direct casting per piece: €35. Wax injection + casting with mold: €12. Savings per piece: €23. Break-even: €65 / €23 = 3 pieces. From the 4th piece onward, the mold is already paid for.
When the mold is clearly the best choice
